But her parents were social climbers, and wanted more than what they already had. Rosalie's beauty was a gift to them, and it managed to catch the attention of Royce King the second, who was the son of a royal family. Eventually, Royce and Rosalie were engaged, but were never married.

One night, after visiting a close friend of hers, Rosalie was badly injured by her drunk fiance and his drunk friends. She was near death until she was saved by Carlisle Cullen, who changed her. After she turned into a vampire, she got her revenge on Royce King and his friends.

One day while hunting, Rosalie saved Emmett from a mauling bear. She took him home and asked Carlisle to change him. They married and have loved each other since.
